What is GetChecked? +
GetChecked is a luggage and bag storage network built on top of vetted neighborhood businesses in New York City. Think of it as a coat-check for the city — drop your bags at a local shop, explore hands-free, and pick them up when you're ready.
How do I check in? +
Find a station on the map at getchecked.co/nyc, or scan the yellow QR sticker on the shop window. Enter the station ID, get your digital stub, and show it to the shop owner when you arrive. That's it.
How do I pay? +
Payment goes directly to the shop — not to GetChecked. Each station sets its own price and accepts its own payment methods (cash, Venmo, PayPal, or card). Check the station page before you go so you know what to bring.
Is my stuff safe? +
All GetChecked stations are vetted neighborhood businesses. Your items are covered by GetChecked item protection during storage. We recommend keeping valuables like passports and electronics with you.
Can I cancel my reservation? +
Reservations can only be cancelled if the station is unexpectedly closed on your date. No-shows are non-refundable — the shop keeps any payment made. Since you pay the shop directly, cancellation disputes are handled with the shop owner.
Do I need to download an app? +
No app needed. Everything runs in your phone's browser. Scan the QR code, get your stub, show it in-store. Done.
What is the 5% Stub? +
Every GetChecked station pledges 5% of their storage revenue to a neighborhood cause of their choice — a youth program, a shelter, a school. It's displayed on their station page. GetChecked never handles that money; stations self-direct their pledge.
For business owners
How much does it cost to join? +
Pilot stations are completely free to join. After the pilot phase, GetChecked charges a flat annual license fee. We never take a percentage of your revenue.
How does the dashboard work? +
Your dashboard is a webpage you bookmark on your phone — no app download. When a customer arrives, they show their claim stub. You enter the code and swipe to confirm. When they return, swipe to release. That's your entire workflow.
Am I liable if something goes wrong? +
GetChecked provides item protection insurance that covers customer belongings during storage. You are not liable for item loss under normal circumstances. You are responsible for basic reasonable care of stored items.
Can I set my own price and hours? +
Yes — completely. You set the price, the hours, and what payment you accept. GetChecked provides the platform and the customers. The business is yours.
How do I apply? +
Visit getchecked.co/partner and fill out the short application form. We'll be in touch within 48 hours with your station kit — QR sticker, window decal, and counter sign.
